Getting started
Install
Download the .dmg for macOS or .msi for Windows from the download page. Drag to Applications (macOS) or run the installer (Windows).
Sign in
Open Phantum and click 'Sign in with Google'. A browser tab will open, prompt for consent, then hand the session back to the app. From then on it keeps you signed in in your OS keychain.
Upload your resume
From the app, Settings → Manage documents opens your dashboard in a browser. Upload a PDF resume and a PDF or text job description. Mark one of each as 'active' — those become the context Phantum uses for every session.
Start a session
Press the mic button in the overlay. Phantum connects to our realtime provider and starts listening for the interviewer's next question. Press again to stop.
Stay invisible
The overlay is transparent and always-on-top but excluded from screen captures on macOS and Windows. Position it over a spot you can glance at without moving your eyes too much.
Plans & usage
Free tier: 30 realtime minutes per month — the full experience, just capped. Pro ($20/mo): unlimited realtime minutes. Both tiers support resume + job-description uploads. Upgrade from /pricing; manage via /dashboard/billing.
FAQ
Does the interviewer see the overlay?
No. On macOS and Windows the window is excluded from screen captures. On shared-screen calls (Zoom, Meet, Teams) it stays hidden.
Where do my audio and transcripts live?
Audio is peer-to-peer between your Mac and OpenAI — we never see it. Transcripts are not stored server-side. Usage records only capture duration, not content.
What happens if the network drops mid-session?
The app disconnects cleanly and our server auto-closes the session within ~1 minute so you're not billed for time you didn't use.
How do I cancel?
Dashboard → Billing → Manage subscription opens Stripe's customer portal. Cancel anytime — you keep access until the end of your current period.
